One of my doctors, you will have many as you get older, just moved into my neigborhood and his son and my daughter now go to the same school. Doc and I saw each other while dropping our kids off at a party and I had on a Sigarms shirt. He asks me if I am in to target sports and I say yes. Turns out he CCWs and unbelievably owns more guns than I do. We both admitted we had never talked guns because it wouldnt be "PC", my last appoitment we talked for over 45 minutes about nothing but guns. He was one of the last peole I know that I thought would carry, but he is a solid 2nd Amendment guy.

A lady friend that I parted company with almost 30 years ago, because she was an anti. Ran into her in July, now she's packing!

Time do change people. Sometimes for the better it seems. :)

I sometimes run into my dentist at gun shows.

...that my Mother-in-law was packing! :what: My wife grew up in a very liberal household with no guns around at all. She has no interest in guns what-so-ever. But she is very happy that I enjoy shooting, will go the the off gunshow with me, and she has come to agree with me on second amendment issues. Although she is a little uneasy with me carrying, she understands and accepts my reasons.

Anyway, one day her mother informs us that she has a small revolver that she’d been carrying for a while. My father-in-law had been transferred to Russia and she wanted a little extra protection while living by herself. She now lives in Germany and the gun is somewhere in storage here in the states. I should find out where so I can take care of it for her! :D

A lot more doctors than you would think carry. Unfortunately, it is not PC for them to talk about it with patients.

This is from talking to two doctors: a little known aspect about being a doctor is that they have to deal with a lot of "patients" who just want prescription drugs. I am not talking about medicine. They make up symptoms, stories, threaten to complain to the state medical board if refused "treatment". No wonder the doctors are packing.

My doc and I talk guns regularly. The last time I went in for a physical, I was wearing a NRA t-shirt. When he entered the room, the first thing he said was, "Nice shirt"! He is a young man of 37 yrs. and I am an old fossil at 61 yrs. He is a real gun guy. Of course I was friends with his late Dad, who was very pro gun.
There are many pro gun doctors but they MUST be careful when they discuss the subject of guns.....and that is a shame.

My kids ophthalmologist (he's my eye doc, too, and helps me with my shooting prescriptions) runs the NRA booth at the local gun show every month, and hosted the "Friends of the NRA" dinner and auction I went to last week.

I know several docs who are into guns, and some who carry in the ER due to the high nut quotient there. The local trauma hospital has a full time LEO at the ER 24/7.

A lot more doctors than you would think carry. Unfortunately, it is not PC for them to talk about it with patients.

A doctor is walking to his car when suddenly he's attacked by a man holding an knife. The doctor quick draws his 9 and one shot rings out "BANG!!!".

Doctor: "Lie still. I'm going to treat your wound."

The wound is patched up, but then suddenly there's a stuggle. The bad man gets to his feet and finds a small iron bar. The doctor, again with heavy sigh, pulls out his pistol and fires another shot.

Doctor: "Lie still. I'm going to treat your wound."

This second wound is quickly treated, but then suddenly there's a struggle. This time the bad guy gets hold of a glass bottle. "Sigh, BANG!!!"

Doctor: "Lie still. I'm going to treat your wound."

:) :D

My wife is tolerant of my gun interests, but not interesting in participating so far. She was a bit astounded when a friend of hers came over for a visit and she found out the lady had a CCW.

I know a doctor who carries. He is one of the most liberal people I know. He became a doctor in the sixties when it was assumed that you would own a gun and carry because most druggies assumed doctors carried large quantities of narcotics on them at all times. He bought a gun, learned how to shoot and was hooked.

I don't know any doctors who carry. I don't really know any doctors at all. I try to avoid them. Seems no one has a "condition" until they go to the doctor. I figure I'll be healthy my entire life so long as I don't let anyone practice medicine on me. I'll wait until they're not "practicing" anymore.

I'm fairly sure that my doc doesn't carry.

Of course she tends to wear fairly tight fitting clothing around the office (not complaining mind you.... ).

Thinking about it however, her 38's are quite special :D.

(my pharmicist & others that I know in the medical profession are shooters/hunters to drag it back to where the thread should have been headed in the first place)

Went to a new customer's house recently. Nothing out of the ordinary, except after an hour I see this H&K sticker on the back window of his pickup.

Turns out he's starting up THE RANGE everyone has been talking about in town, since we don't have an indoor range yet. Of course he shows me his H&K in a holster...on the countertop. I informed him of my P11 out in the truck. :D

We talked about gun crap for probably 2 hours.

I just found out that our HR director carries! Of course, she agrees with the "no weapons at work" policy. In the case of an armed lunatic ex-employee taking over the office - call the police and hope for the best. :banghead:
