So, tonight is trap night at Berthoud Gun Club. And it was pretty cold and rainy since sunday, so I figured it would be pretty empty tonight. It was. Met Chuck from work and Elvis my usual shotgun shooting buddy there, and the wife had to do a presentation for church. (ha, keep me from getting shown up again). Anyway, this is basically only the 2nd time out for the new CZ ringneck, and since the evil O/U incident of a few weeks back. I shot one round last week in the pouring rain with the new CZ, and decided that was that, and went home (and it just rained harder afterwards, so it was a good decision).

Anyway, no one is there, Chuck and I take our turn on the line, no one else is there, it's not even my fit stock. 22.
Nice.
I walk off, Elvis has shown up, he says what did you get?"
22.
Ok, then, he says, I guess you do shoot better with a SxS.
Geez, these people never listen.
It's pretty empty so we shoot another regular trap (20, 3 straightaway misses. :banghead: ) and we ask them to turn the trap to wobble. They do.
I like shooting wobbles, challenging, plus a "OMG I Missed 2nd chance shot" is always fun.
So, we shoot a couple, and we get to about the 3rd time. It's getting cold and it's getting dark, this is probably it for me, i've been shooting 21/22's all night and I'm pretty happy with that.
so, we line up
I psych myself up, get in position (i'm starting on station 5) and "pull"

I missed. :cuss: :banghead:

Ok, pressure off, i proceed to shoot very well.
I get around to station 4, realize i've only used up 4 extras (cuz i only started with 6) and I've not missed another one. I have 23 straight (new record for me) and I figure, ok, I'll get the last one, that will give me a 24, and 24 straight, and they'll let me shoot another one, so i can get over the concept of 25 straight (even if it took me 26, that's just another step)
so, last round, station 4, bird 5, havn't moved position, mount the gun,
Puuuulll
straightaway, about normal trap height
easy shot

LOST BIRD
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :cuss: :cuss:

Unreal, oh so close
Still, 23 straight, I'm pretty happy
and just wait til i get the wife to put the fitted stock on this one. (she's the patient one ;) )

Don't worry, you'll get it soon. A 25 straight is shot one target at a time.

The hard part is maintaining concentration and not losing focus.
