Just wanted to pass along that there will be a meeting at the Boston State House to discuss the 50 Cal ban. I'm definitely attending this meeting. Here is the information.

"The Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security has announced a second hearing for S.2113, "AN ACT PROHIBITING THE SALE, TRANSFER OR POSSESSION OF “COP KILLER” HANDGUNS AND HIGH-POWERED RIFLES" This is the bill that seeks to ban .50 caliber BMG rifles and the Herstal Five-seveN handgun.

The hearing will take place October 25, 2005 at 10 am in Room 437 of the State house."

I take it there've been quite a few crimes committed with .50 caliber rifles in Taxachussets lately, then?

You can kill a cop just as easily with a 30-06 as with a 50. Ok, well maybe you can do it with a 50 from a greater distence. But still. Most hunting rilfe's can go through a vest.

Say's no where about so long as blah blah, it says shall not be infrindged. It doesn't get my clearer.

If this was for the first ammendment people would be all over it. And that doesn't even include such clarification as shall not be infringed.

Will they let me keep my 10/22 assault rifle? (Fat chance) NRA needs to fight this tooth and nail. I've writen letters before, but I doubt they do much good.

The thing that sucks about this legislation is that there is not a grandfather clause. If it's passed I'll get a letter or something telling me to turn in my 50 Cal. :fire: That is why I got my permit for NH and Maine. I'll find a nice place for it up there and keep it there if this thing passes. Turn in my rifle? Yeah right! :cuss:
