Ithaca 37 R.l.b./flaming Bomb

I Am Trying To Find The Value Of A Model 37. It Has A Serial # 53xxx. It Is All Original. Probably 90%. It Has Matching Serial Number On Barrel That Has A Vent Rib With 3 Beads. Left Side Of Barrel Has A P Next To The Receiver. The Upper Left Side Of Reciever Has A Flaming Bomb And R.l.b. It Is 16 Ga. And Shoots Extremely Good. Any Info On This???

But a flaming bomb could be the Ordnance Corps stamp. (Does it look like the one in the attached picture ??)

Interesting that the receiver has a bursting bomb on it? If it was lets say an Ordance Wepaon, I wonder why they utilized a 16ga? I was always under the impression that the military used 12 gauges...... Plus the vent rib on a Ithaca Military shotgun would be a first that I have heard of. It could also be a replacement barrel too unless the serial numbers match. I could be wrong on both of my assumptions.

They used to use "bird-guns" to teach some basics of aerial gunnery (shooting clays from the back of a moving jeep IIRC). Im not sure if they used 16 gauges or not. Would be a pretty neat story to go with the gun though.
