Went to order some Estate Reduced Recoil buckshot yesterday. Sorry, no can do. Federal discontinued that load. Wonder why? Maybe because it shot as well as Federal Tactical and sold for $90 vs. $129? That torques me :cuss: .
At least I still have 4 cases of it but I had wanted to add to the stash as decent tac ammo (.223, X39, .308 etc....) seems hard to come by right now.
Will have to look at Remington managed Recoil and the Hornady load. Distributor said the Hornady was out of stock but they had a case and half of the Remington.

Yup, we went over the changes a while back on this thread: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=73967&highlight=ESTATE+BUCKSHOT+BLOUNT .
Too bad such a great buckshot load at such great prices has fallen by the wayside, but that is to be expected in todays world of corporatism. My advice is to stock up on ANY load you like while you can. With the continuing centralization of ammo manufacturing the tap can more easily be turned off or diverted completely to government/military production only.
Call me paranoid if you want, I don't care. There is no such thing as too much ammo.

I actually subscribed to that thread. I have now shot up a bunch of my old buckshot unfortunately. Apparently they don't even offer buckshot in the Estate line anymore. My next choice will probably be Hornady if I can ever find someone that has it in stock!

The lesson remains the same......
If you find THE Magic Load, buy as much as you can and store it. If not, you can guarantee it'll get discontinued, defiled or reserved for Ted Kennedy's armed bodyguards.
The good news, with the variety of loads now available, there's going to be at least one other buck load that patterns well in YOUR shotgun. Research is mandatory.
