Best Sight for dual usage

I would like to set up a pistol that can be used as a match gun and a carry/home defense gun. I will work the action and keep it above 5 Lbs, but what I really need is help with the sights. Night sights would be optimal but i think the 3 dot is a little much, one thing I am thinking about doing is Trijicon Green Front, Red or yellow rear. Do you guys think this a good combo to work with or do you have a better idea that can still serve both purposes?

For both play and carry..and night sights..either the Heinie Straight 8 or the Novaks with a bar-dot

Straight 8 Slant Pro's. A slightly smoother profile.

I would change one detail from the above posters, I would get 'race cut' Heinies.

Definetly get a set of Race Cut Heinies. I have a set of standard ones and if I were to buy again it would be the race cut set.

What kind of match?
The stuff posted will serve very well for IDPA or IPSC but won't get the job done at bullseye where you really need adjustable sights to go from 50 to 25 yards and maybe to 50 feet.
