Does any one have a Casull Model CA 2000?

For those who don't know, it's a small, five-shot revolver chambered in .22LR. It has an enclosed hammer, fold-up trigger, & is double-action. Sort of a baby Centennial.

I'm interested in opinions. I have never seen one in person only pictures. How do you like it? How does it compare to a NAA Mini? Any information would be appreciated, Thanks in advance, Bill

It's of no interest to me until it ships in 22Magnum/22LR convertable.

The ballistics on 22LR vs. 22Mag in short barrels is considerable, as long as you pick the right 22Mag fodder.

A .32 version sound kind of interesting.

Wish the folks at NAA would scale up one of the minis.

Ya, scale the Black Widow up to a four-or-five-shot 32H&RMaggie :).

It'd be able to fire 32ACP, 32S&W, 32S&WLong.

It's definitely cute, and as long as there was a "Products" button, I clicked on it.

The Model CA 3800 in .38 Casull is manufactured to strict tolerances. Each firearm is individually built and tested. Dick Casull has designed and reengineered the 1911 to handle the .38 Casull cartridge.

I could interest myself in a .38 special model 1911, but not a wildcat model 1911.

The 38 Casull is a very hot bottle neck cartridge that is supposed to be in th 1800fps range.

Its not your every day 1911 - it would be a good hunting weapon, thats for sure.

I would buy one if I had the chance - if I could get dies and brass without too much difficulty....

Hi Ultraman,

The CA 2000 is a very well made and well finished revolver. The workmanship is far and away better than any NA revolver I have seen. It also costs a good deal more than the NAs. I bought mine more as a curiosity than a defense gun. I will agree with many other posters that a .22LR may be better than nothing at all but is a poor choice for self defense given all the other caliber options. I have a few pictures of my CA 2000 at the link below.

Finally! Thank you Billy. I had given up hope of having someone actually answer "my" questions. I like the pictures too.

I carry a S&W 640 as my primary weapon, I am looking for a "very small" revolver for when I jog. Here in Florida it gets hot and you can't really hide anything and run in running shorts. I don't really want to go with a NAA for two reasons, one is I don't want a "single action" revolver if I don't have to go with one. The other reason is personal.

BTW, What is that bar looking thing on the right side of the frame for?

Thanks again, Bill
