So, after shooting th the 48B today and coming home with a sore shoulder, I started thinking about what you said regarding putting a pad on it. Pulled out a tape, and with the 1/4" buttplate, length of pull is 14".....14"!!!!. Holy smokes! It's original, too - butt's never been cut down. I'm figuring that I can take off the plate, replace with a 3/4" Decelerator and come up with a more suitable LOP (roughly 14-1/2", which will still fit me, quite comfy-like), without having to resort to surgery :D

'Tis a good day, indeed!!!

Shush...you are about to spill the beans on something very important.
Some of us that are fond of Decelerators are going to hope this thread gets closed, ignored, or just disappears...;)

Would you shut up about White Line too? :D

Sentimental -'nuff said.

Leave the stock hard plates alone too...

If'n you gonna "pick" on one...pick on them 'genuine imitation hard as woodpecker lips" ones that come on "Brand X".

I mean the Remington factory hard plastic is softer...

Just hush up on how to get a gun to fit willya? The more folks do not have a gun that fits:

- the more shotshells that gets sold. Supports the economy and all.

-one can get some awesome buys on "crappy guns that don't shoot right".

-folks will get turned off shooting. This means less traffic at ranges, and hunting fields.

-sales of video games of folks shooting and hunting will increase [again helps the economy].

-easier to get a slot for a shotgun training class...

-oh - and just how in the heck is a person supposed to get all caught up on- hunting coats, shooting vests, get bruises and such with a gun that fits? They can't!

Work with me here! Sheesh, buy 'em books and send them to school...I swear!

j/k

For those who weren't there, Ed had a 20 gauge 11-48 at The Geezer League that he used for Chinese trap.It was equipped with just a buttplate and since the 48 was recoil operated, kicked a good bit

Ed, I'm sure it would work and also aid comfort no end. Note that the butt is not only too close to the receiver,(LOP) but small. That's a trim, lightweight field stock, not meant for round counts like target guns are.

sm, don't be so selfish, heh,heh....

Very nice, Paul. That's letter grade plus wood, and the pad complements it well.
