i've got a New England Firearms 20 gauge .i'ts my first gun.i've had it since 1987. my question is - how do i get it repaired. the other weekend i was shootin it and the fore end broke off . i inspected it and there is a takedown screw that goes through the forend and into a threaded cup that is welded to the barrel. the cup broke off the barrel. i would assume that it is way outta warranty. could a smith reweld it, or would JB weld work? i would rather have it done by a smith as the screw holds the forend on and the forend is what makes the ejector work ( it takes some abuse as the gun is broke open it flings the empty outta the chamber ). thanks in advance.

IMO, a smith should do it.

you could always email H&R and ask about it. the worst they could say is "we'll have to charge you 80 dollars for a new barrel if you have us fix it", in which case you have your smith do it.
