I'm taking a group of about 8 first-time shooters to an indoor range in the near future. I will definitely be walking them through safety and marksmanship there on the range, but sometimes it can be difficult to instruct over the gunfire and the range charges by the hour so I don't have all day to go over each instruction with each individual. I don't want it to get too formal since the main point is for them to enjoy themselves and see firearms as a healthy diversion.

That said, they were willing to read and take the safety tests as well as look through much of the info on this site:

http://homestudy.ihea.com/contents.htm

The only thing missing from it is handgun marksmanship tips/manual of arms-type information. Granted, I don't expect them to put full magazines through the x-ring, but some basic marksmanship tips helps them hit- which makes the experience more fun- and keeps them safe knowing where the rounds are going. Besides, half of the guys are "by-the-book" types that like to have all the research in their heads even before they ever step out and do it practically... the other half, I don't want to seem like an imposing professor- thus the need for PICTURES (besides, some learn visually best anyways).

So any good links to help first-timers pistol shoot?

BTW, I'm thinking-

S&W M18 .22lr
Browning Hunter .22lr
CZ75B 9mm
Glock G19 9mm
1911 .45ACP
GP100 .357 mag

-in that order. Is that too much for a first time? Obviously if I were "tutoring" someone I'd stick to .22, but these guys have a bit of a macho streak and want to try the larger calibers and hotter loads.

Good deed! Sounds like you could use a couple more seasoned shooters with you for that session, where you at? I'm in MI outside Detoilet.

This site is very good. Designed with women in mind, but very good for any gender.
