are the immortal words of Otto, as he left a business called "Pot Palace", a place that sold plant pottery and the like.

I had that same feeling stumbling across these sites over the past few years, most recently a couple today (dpms and kimber):

www.walther.com
www.dpms.com
http://www.colts.com/
http://www.springfield.com/
http://www.kimber.com/
www.cz.com
http://www.cartridgeworld.com/

What others are out there?

There are zillions of em, there are actually companies that buy up expired domains in bulk and redirect them to their pages so that anyone trying to access the defunct web site will get smothered in popups and installers.

Two of my favorites are:

http://nice-tits.org
http://penisland.net

Both are completely work-safe, and not at all what you're thinking. Art's Grammaw should wash your minds out with soap!

Hmmm. The first may be dead - I'm getting a DNS lookup failure on it. Hopefully it's just a DNS glitch on my end.

Yes it happen's all the time. And old site's get screwed all the time.

Recently at a gaming forum I visit there was a falling out between the comunity and the team member's and the project director.

Seem's the project leader was using fund's donatated to help cover cost's of hosting and the like (was a free modification to a game) for his own personal gain's and usage, some 2-3k was missing from the account's. Since they were all in his name nothing could be done but move on. Thing's were alright and it seemed as amicable as possible untill the eve of the newist release when the site and it's forums were put up for aution to the highist bidder.

The sight got hundred of thousand's of hit's a month it is one of the best and largist modification comunities. He will walk away with thousand's when the only thing he did was give a little direction to something free.

But yeah, I've visted more then a few site's whose name suggested somethign else.

Remember once in computer lab we were supposed to look up a website and naturaly I didn't pay attention and there goes porn splashed on my computer screen. (made a .org a .com or something)

That happened to me also. And considering that I was one of the few females in the room and also that I really hate that type of material, it was one of the most embarassing times of my life.:o
I think that in order to access one of those sites it should be: (Whatever name) .porn
That way there are no embarassing mistakes.

Some site's that advertise the stuff make money for each hit, so it work's to their advantage to have people coem to it even if they just hit the little x button and are there for a second.

That and for thsoe that are regular porn site's, it works out for them. even if jsut a small percentage stay and join, that is still more money. Even if only one in every ten do after thousand's off accidental hit's a day that's a lot of new memmber's.

When our son was younger he raced sailboats as a junior. One of the classes is a club 420.
Looking for a used one on line, I learned that 420 is slang for marijuana.

Dudes, that's interesting and all, but I meant sites that SOUND gun-related, such as the ones I linked to, not just any old site confusion. The Pen Island one has me laughing my fool head off however. The other link does not work (nicetits). Also, tri-w._whitehouse_.com turns up no valid page either, so not sure what you meant by that.

Oops, sorry about that. On the whitehouse thing, try taking the underscores out. Just don't do it at work or when the wife and kids are around.

Looks like it may be dead, which is a pity. The http://nice-tits.org address used to go to the Royal Tit-Watching (Ornithological) Society of Great Britain. Birdwatchers who specialise in small, finch-like birds called tits.

(Think I've said tit enough to trigger all of the nanny filter software?:neener: )

Approaching the danger zone, but here's a picture of a nice tit.

As a side note, I'm having a fun conversation with a pal, trying to get him to go to PenIsland.net.
Another side note:
We're sorry, Pen Island sample pens are sold out. After shipping thousands of pens to customers in dozens of countries, we've run out of our enormously popular sample pens.
I wonder why they're so popular.

Edit: Man I'm really having fun with Pen Island. XD

www.whitehouse.com hasn't been a porn site for years... It made the news a few years ago because some teacher brought it up in front of her students, and the porn site was shortly thereafter shut down.

Just because you associate the words Walther, Colt, Springfield, Kimber, etc to firearms there are plenty of other meanings. Does that make them false sites? No, just an education for you.
