What manufacturers make a 5 1/2" to 6" barreled 9mm to compete with (ie same price range) Glock's longslides?

Is there something you hope to accomplish with a long slide 9? If you are looking for inceased velocity with .335 diameter bullets, may I suggest a 38 Super or a 357 SIG?

Could have more to do with sight radius than velocity.

Still, we need some more details. There are a few 5-6" barrelled 9mm pistols on the market (STI Trojan, Springfield XD9 Tactical, Springfield 1911 9mm Service Model, CZ75 Tactical Sport, S&W 952), but they vary in size, design, capacity, and price.

Hey what's up delmar? Yeah it's sight radius. I'd be all over the 34 or 17L if they didn't have the giant hole in the slide to reduce weight. Why they didn't just go with a heavier recoil spring, and leave the slide intact I have no idea. Maybe to keep it light, but its not like those models would be used for carry guns anyways. Seems like backwards engineering to me. And leaves a hole in the slide.

So was just wondering if anyone made anything like it in the same price range. Of course I've seen the USP elites and experts with five and six inch slides, for TWICE the price. And what's up with all the different variants? How many different combinations of SA/DA-SA/DAO can you have? Probably not much out there between the glock level and the HK level of quality though. I guess I could get used to a HOLE in the slide.
