Has anyone had any experience with or opinions on the BSA Bore Sighter? I found what appears to be a great deal on one at:

I just got the BSA Boresighter today. It is well worth the $30 (includes shipping) I spent. It's well made and seems very sturdy. It pretty much matches the bore scope used by my local gun shop to check the alignment my scope before I got my own device. Theirs is a Simmons but they look identical. They indicated they spent over $100 on theirs.

Does that bore sighter help you level a scope on your rifle? I still haven't figured out a good way to do that.

1 Level rifle.
2 Drop plumb bob (I use a length of clothesline weighted with a 1/18" nut).
3 Sight through scope.
4 Adjust scope in rings to align verticle substension to plumb bob string.

If you do not have a spirit level to level the rifle - suspend the rifle upside down from the sling swivlel studs then steps 2,3 & 4

They are good kit, and cheap too!

Kiwi, Thanks for the help. I want to try that. I do have a spirit level, but none of my rifles have a flat top or flat surface (except for my AR) that I can place the level on. Unless I'm missing something...
