What are your "fun guns"?

My FAL is my fun gun. It is accurate as hell, powerful, and the recoil in such a heavy rifle with an adjustable gas system is pretty mild.
The SKS is a close second.
The M39 is accurate beyond my abilities but recoil isn't as soft as the FAL so it isn't nearly as much fun to shoot.
What are your fun guns?
What qualities define a fun gun?
For me they are reliability, accuracy, and light enough recoil that you can shoot it all day.

1. Mechtech 1911 carbine conversion unit. It has surprisingly good accuracy & it's a 1911 too.
2. RIA 1911
3. SKS

Ruger MkIII 22/45
Ruger 10/22
Springfield XD9

The 10.5" Super Blackhawk .44 is tons of fun at long ranges too, but costs more per shot. The above are mostly for fun, although the .22's go into the woods during squirrel seasons and the XD rides in the car with me at times.

They're all fun, but the one I bought JUST FOR FUN is my new Tarus Tracker 970 in .22lr

It's big and manly looking, and shoots great. The wife will probably even like it, thus making shooting much more fun for me.

The Mateba. Definately the Mateba.

Justin, what cal. is yours? I havent had a chance to shoot mine yet.

My .45-70 BFR and my .44 Magnum Ruger Redhawk are fun as he!!, but a
bit costly to shoot. My Beretta 92F is a lot of fun and cheaper too. :D

A "fun gun" is whatever is fun to shoot.

My fun gun is my turk mauser.

What i like to do most is set up a paper plate, and a few stripper clips. I shoot em all into the plate as fast as i can. Im getting pretty good at rapid aimed fire.

Nice thing is, i dont have to be afraid of banging it up.

Ruger 10/22 for the younger boys.

It's a ton of fun. It also has it's uses for dealing with annoying people at the range. A few months ago on a trip to the indoor range I usually frequent there was this guy about 2 lanes down from me shooting a full size S&W .357 (I'm not good enough with S&W models to tell which one but I took a peak at the ammo box on the bench).

This guys got his girlfriend and 2 buddys with him and is acting like a idiot everytime he shoots the thing. Yelling about how powerful the gun is, saying he can barely hold onto the thing everytime he pulls the trigger etc. Now normally I don't care if someone wants to make a fool of himself in public but this guy was driving me nuts. The final straw was when, after lighting off a cylinder full, he starts jumping up and down(Yes, Literally jumping up and down) and yelling to his GF that if she ever tried to shoot his gun it would rip her arm clean off.

At that point my good manners decided to go get a cup of coffee or take a smoke break or something. I loaded both of the mags I had with me and quietly shifted into the lane next to him and ran a target out. I waited till I saw him put his gun down on the bench after shooting and then fired off the first mag as fast as I safely could, swapped mags and did it again.

I hear "What the h#ll was that!" from his lane and both he and his friends pop around the divider to see what it was. After that he stopped making so many comments to go along with his shooting and I got a smile and a chuckle out of his girlfriend. I reckon she didn't take to kindly to the rip her arm off comment.

My fun gun is my BAR. Always get lots of weird looks at the range.

"Is that real?" is the usual question. Well why would I bring it to a range if it was an airsoft?

That and my Sig P239. It's my boring old carry gun, but it is, for whatever reason, the most accurate thing I shoot. Something about that thing and the way I shoot work better together than anything else I own.

My AR15

It's cheap to feed, I can shoot it all day with out a sore shoulder, it's accurate and it eats all the Wolf 62 grain FMJ I can feed it!

The 10-22(my second favorite) is a fun little gun but it lacks the range I want to plink at. I like to shoot at 50-100 yards and that little 22LR just can't hang.

SIG P239 in .357 SIG. Makes me grin when I shoot it.

Followed by:
STI Ranger .45ACP
and
Ruger #1-H in .416 Rigby - always a great conversation starter at the indoor range.

My Springfield 1911 loaded and saiga .308 are the most fun I'd say. Recoil on both is very comfortable and accuracy is great. Saiga is lightweight with good balance, it's a pleasure. Wish it was in PG form though.

When I feel like doing something firearms related that just plain makes me grin, I haul my black powder revlovers to the range. Not much more fun to be had than that.

What I do for fun most of the time, like 3-4 times a week, is shoot skeet. So I guess my most fun gun is my old Remington 1100 20ga standard frame. I had to upgrade reloaders this weekend just to keep up on feeding the shotgun. :)

Henry Lever... it's inexpensive, light, and quick to load over twenty .22 shorts. I get just about as much satisfaction working the action as busting up the reactive targets. Knowing how cheap it was makes it all the better.

My Colts are my fun guns. I have a Colt Cobra, Python and a Government Model. I don't carry them or have them loaded up for home defense.

I only own them because they are objects of beauty that I can shoot. Mostly I keep them clean and polished. My fun guns are when I shoot my safe queens. Because, then I can justify them to my self as tools and art. That gives me great satisfaction of ownership. Puts one of these on my face :D .

I have quite a few but the top ones are:
CZ-52 - Loud, accurate attention getter. Most think it is some sort of "Bond gun".

CVA 50 cal. Plains Pistol from a kit I built. I customized it with a rear sight, barrel wedge instead of the wimpy pin provided in the kit and a brass ramrod replacing the wooden dowel CVA supplied. Instant crowd maker when I shoot "the pirate pistol" (Arrg matey!!!). "Who shot the cannon? :what: ":D

My Glock 23, Taurus 85, Mosin, Winchester 1300, Ruger 10/22 are also pretty fun ;)

.410 NEF mini parder single shot cut down stock and barrel to barely legal length from factory.

S&W 17-4 6" 22lr revolver or something like a 10/22 or Nylon 66. Give me one of those, a deserted desert shooting spot and a brick of ammo and it doesn't get any better than this unless the Swedish bikini team showed up!

Mosin Nagant M44 is also a fun gun with all the flash and blast and all.

They are all fun guns, but from a fun factor only and ignoring any practical considerations my most fun are:

-S&W 57- relatively mild recoil and the .41mag has a heck of a boom, only problem is ammo costs.

-S&W 65LS and 19- Very little (other than above) can come close to .357mag out of a K-frame for fun

-1911- what do I have to say, hard to beat

-CZ 75B- big accurate gun, low recoil and cheap 9mm ammo

-Winchester 94- one in 30-30 (man that is a blast) and just a tad less fun per shot, but with much cheaper ammo so probably more fun per buck, is the one in .45LC.

-SKS- fun, cheap to shoot, history

-AR15- cheap enough to shoot all day, accurate, and the same thing I shot in Basic Training (essentially).

-For the first few cylinders my blackpowder revolvers count. Few things beat the blast of flame and cloud of smoke they produce. The attention they garner is fun too. Unfortunately, after a few cylinders the mess and the loading process starts to get old which drops them to a lower point on the "fun to shoot" list then they'd otherwise get.

I haven't had my "fun gun" for a few years now.... :(

It was known as an M-256...others know it as the main gun on the Abrahms. :) Now you wanna talk about smiles per round....<sigh>

Now I only have my 16" Contender 45-70...14" 44 Mag...

And my Brno mouser with a few bottles of tannerite down range.

Not as loud as my old tank gun, but at least it sets off my buddies alarm. :D

ALL of them, but especially the M-1 Garand and Springfield '03. Both of them are older than I am, but still give the NEWER rifles a run for the money in accuracy!

I'll add my Smith & Wesson model 41 to the list, for it has been my most reliable, accurate and easy to maintain handgun. It performs almost as good, in the accuracy department, as many .22 rifles!

LeadPumper, I'm waiting on Form 4s for an IMI conversion Uzi and two Vector suppressors (9 & 45). When they show up, I'm sure the Uzi will be my "fun gun" too! I've got almost as much invested in accessories as in the gun, but I do still need to get one of those LXVIII drums ...

I'd have to say that my AR-15 is my fun gun. Relatively cheap to shoot, loads of fun, and very tacti-cool.

Jake, I can relate about the .50 DE story, a buddy of mine and I were at an indoor range earlier this year and a couple of real dumba$$s came in. They were warned several times about rapid-fire, and they kept trying to blame everyone else. One of them brought in a .44Mag S&W and were hootin' and hollerin' about how it's THE most powerful handgun in the world. So me and my buddy get to either side of them, me with my Ruger .454Casull SRH, him with his rented .50 DE. We just started alternating shots down range, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM... They left quietly and the range owner didn't have to dust the ceiling for awhile.:D
