Ruger Vaquero New Model - Hard to find?

Curly to Moe " I cant see, I cant see"

Moe to Curly "whats a matter?"

Curly "I got my eyes closed" ;)

The local shops may have some of the old ones they want to sell.

Have you asked them to order one for you????????

I bought one from a local shop in February, they had two when I was in there last week.

I did a search on Davidsons, they list the new models as Allocated, meaning they are selling them to stocking dealers as fast as they can get them. They have plenty of the Old models though. So they are hard to find.

I've seen quite a few in my area. Even made the mistake of letting LGS owner put one in my hand about 4 months ago. It was awfully hard to pry out. I eventually bought an older one (and am very happy I did) because I wanted to try out some +P 45 colt, but the new model feels better to the hand and is more pleasing to my eye. I've never held a SAA, but if the new
Vaquero is even close then I finally understand the allure.

Wasn't there some problems with them when they first came out? They may have not caught up from that episode.

I wanted an NV .45 4-5/8" Blue and could not find one, nor a stainless. Lots of the 50th Anniversary Blackhawks though. Elsewhere, lots of what I wanted but no 50th Anniversary guns. Tried to order and 3 stores said no, one said yes but couldn't get the gun (although they had MY money) and one ordered and got the gun, no problem. My usual shop has yet to have but one 50th Anniversary gun. Prices vary, too. I got my gun for $459 but was quoted $428 by the shop that couldn't deliver. Many shops quote MSRP "when we can finally get one." They're out there in the distribution chains. Find a shop that will order what you want AND has a distributor that actually has the revolver in stock.
