Tell me about the non "Standard" rifle nipples

I recently pulled my T/C Penn. Hunter (1/66 .50 cal) out of the safe after perhaps ten years of storage (I actually shot a couple of powder only loads last year).

I headed out to the range with the intention of puting a few balls down range to determine if I should use this during the Mass (shotgun) deer season. I have a month to get ready.

Of course I ran into some ignition problems but nothing a real good cleaning shouldn't fix. While in the Black Powder section of local gun shop I saw several different "nipples" Standard, Magnum and the like.

Could anyone tell me what the difference is they look to have the same size exit hole.

Also, if any one is shooting a T/C Penn. Hunter which would you suggest?

Thank in advance!
