It is truly sad to see how far they've gone.

'Bout that time, I was a first-grader riding the school bus for the first time.
In those days, we had High School kids on the same busses as us little ones. They had .22's for "rifle club", and during hunting season, serious high-power long guns for deer.... On the bus, in their lockers, etc....
A friend, who doesn't get it, complained about the "easy availability of handguns".... I reminded him that about 3/4 of a mile from his house there once was a gas station that would sell a child a gun or ammunition on the basis of a handwritten note from a parent. At best, a phone call home to verify. Never a problem....
Say: "Gun" in a High School hallway today and see what happens....

c) Firing positions
d) Zeroing
e) Practice

I'll bet that class turned out fewer felons than... Aw, never mind!

50 years later:
* The Party has purged New Jersey of all firearms. Except, of course, for the police, who have MP5s to settle their personal grudges.
* You take your life in your hands if you drive two blocks down the wrong street in New Brunswick.
