Is what my buddy is telling me true? Are NH residents allowed to own full-auto weapons with no special license? I find it hard to believe but what do I know. Everything I've found on the web leads me to understand that they follow federal law regarding full-auto which I understand it means you can't have one without a special license.

I think your buddy is misinformed. No state can bypass the federal regulations regarding Class 3 weapons.

I have one and live in NH, and I had to go through all the NFA hoops and background checks that anyone else does in the states that allow ownership.

Massachussetts requires a state license to own a machinegun. Not the case in New Hampshire.

You don't need a federal license to own a machinegun. All you need is your Form 4 (Tax Paid Transfer and Registration of a Firearm).

No license needed, Pay the Tax , pass the Fed background and away you go. There is no Federal license.
