I'd be intrested to see how that stevens shoots. I have a 7mm-08 project milling around in my head for my girlfriend.

I figure, just buy the stevens, trash the stock get a new one from Richards Microfit, get a new trigger, and you have a real nice rifle for around $450. Combine that with a Burris Fullfield II 4x16x44AO and you can have a real nice rifle.

Sorry for going on a tangent there. Nice rifles, give us a report on how they shoot.

Ok range report time.

The Marlin is dead on with my best being a sub moa group of 11 rounds at 50 yards. What I expected though, it's a good and proven rifle.

The Stevens...wow. The first shot was about 18 inches low and a couple to the right. Took me about 5 shots of scope adjusting to walk the bullet to the "X". Once it was sighted in the thing was absolutely unbeatable. I was shooting sub moa groups of 3 every single time at 100 yards.

The rifle felt excellent in hand. Very comfortable and easy to shoot. It does have a considerable recoil, more than other .308's I've fired. I think this is due to the light weight stock. The recoil is very managable, just more than I expected. I put about 40 rounds through it last Sunday and my shoulder is definitely feeling the effects.

I used Black Hills 175gr. Jacketed HP and it performed flawlessly. No FTF's or jams or FTE's. For $270 you just flat out can't beat this rifle in my opinion.
