A friend of mine-- a retired woman-- has a couple of guns from her previous marriage that she would like to sell. (Note: she has a personal pistol that she will not part with. Fear not; she's not disarming herself.) I'm not in the market for them, but I looked them over, and can give the following accounts:

Colt Woodsman
98% or better blue. No visible wear marks, with tiny imperfection marks at top corner of one ear of the rear sight and on the side bottom of the heel. Deep, lusterous blue. Target stocks, also in very good condition, medium-colored wood with some checking. 4" barrel, SN: 0831XXX

Browning High Power
Belgium-made, 85-90% finish, with some shiny spots at leading edges from being worn. 9mm, flat stocks with checking. SN: 245PZ8XXX (Barrel SN and frame SN match, FWIW)

Finally, she also has a perfect-condition (100 %) ribbed 20 gauge barrel for a Browning Auto 5, with 2 3/4" chambers, marked "Special Steel", SN: 044XXX (Unusual to see serial numbers on shotgun barrels, isn't it?)

Can anyone give me any info about dates of manufacture, relative rarity, and approximate going price for these items? She's a nice lady, a friend of the family, and would like to help her.

Thanks.

Anyone have any more input? Dates of manufacture, etc?

I will say that I thought the Woodsman would be a bit more valuable than that. It's very nearly "as new." It's lovely.

Hello. I can only help with the Hi Power. It was made in '81.

Best.
