I hope this is in the right forum guys, but here goes:
I have a Llama that I know very little of beyond the caliber, and hope you guys can nail it down for me.

It looks like this almost exactly, except the grips are plastic and vaguely resemble a CZ-75s.

What caliber is it? I assume it is a .45acp but it could be a .38 Super or 9mm.
It looks like an older model.

Well you would think its a 45, since you can see the frame marked 45 lightly in the picture.

It's an IX-B.
The IX-A didn't have the longer slide lock.
The MAX-I is similar but doesn't have the round toe at the bottom of the frontstrap.

Thanks a bunch. :)
Know anything about parts compatibility? I need to replace the mag catch on it.

It is not as old if it has plastic grips as mentioned. In any case Spanish handguns have a proofmark that will tell the year of manufacture. I think the Spanish handgun forum at www.gunboards.com has the link for how to decipher it and in any case someone there will know more about it. I have a 9x19 XI-B and it is very accurate and reliable with ball ammo. It was made in 1984 IIRC and had a "D2" proofmark I think.
My Llama 45acp sucked though, YYMV. Some but not all parts are compatible with a real 1911 pattern gun.

I can't see .45 marked in the pic. I am using crappy AOL and it has some kind of web page speed up that makes the pics lower quality so they load faster. I miss my cable modem so much.:(
