What upgrades to get for CZ75B

I've put a few thousand rounds through my gun and have decided its time to spruce things up a bit.

List:

1) Hogue Rubber grips (best site/price?)
2) Wolff springs (What lb, and recoil only?)
3) Looking for a good holster for this gun still
4) Optics.... what works best with this gun, just a front fiber optic add-on, or scopes/peep holes?
5) Any other suggestions?

Advice is always appreciated.

I clean this puppy with Rem oil mostly and some bore cleaner. Shoot cheap 9mm through it, nothing very hot.

I wouldn't bother changing the springs. Perhaps after several thousand rounds, you might need a new spring but... If the gun is working fine than I wouldn't mess with the springs. This is a very debatable topic. I will just point out that there are competition shooters who have thousand and thousands of rounds on stock springs with no problems.

Sights are more of a personal thing.

You might try the competition sights in the link below.

The trigger can be seriously upgraded. I have the single action trigger, champion hammer, and an EGW sear. The trigger is excellent now, but it is a single action (like a 1911).

You might consider a set of custom wooden grips. There are a couple grip makers on czforum.com that have very nice looking grips in the wood/style of your choice.

Did you do all of your trigger/hammer work yourself?

rebend magazine brake so they drop free.

I put Hakan grips on mine. Love them. Also changed out the plastic spring guide to a steel one.

Yes, I did do all my own trigger work. If you have all the correct tools it isn't that bad.

The Power Custom Jig is quite helpful.

The EGW sear was fun to fit. It is absolutely rock hard.

After a year all I did to mine was replace the plastic stocks with factory rubber ones. I did that after the first week. Mine has been working like a charm, no changes planned....

Are you looking for a IWB or OWB Holster? I have a Milt Sparks VMII for the CZ75 that works really well. I do not carry it much anymore. I am not sure why because it is super comfortable, but it seems like my carry gun and collection is moving toward the 45. I actually put the holster up for sale but I am having 2nd thoughts on selling it. The only other things I did to mine was the wolf spring kit and night sights.

The only things I ever did to any of my CZs was to put Hakan grips on them, and put them into Eric's custom leather. People have talked highly of the JackAsh stainless guide rod, and someday I may get one.

I still have the Galco Hi-Jak pancake rig for my full size, the gun I don't have anymore, and that is a solid, comfy rig! They don't make them anymore, though....

1) Hogue Rubber grips (best site/price?) 2) Wolff springs (What lb, and recoil only?)

1) I have the CZ rubber grips, I like them a lot and recommend them.

2) If the gun is cycling O.K., I'd be inclined to leave it alone. My .40 cal 75B had feeding problems with the Win Value Pack ammo. A Wolff 18 lb recoil spring and the Wolff XP mag springs cured my feeding problems with the Win Value Pack stuff, but I don't use that ammo anymore.

Me too. Rubber grips and a few thousand rounds through it and the trigger is now great.

On my cz75b I went with the cz rubber grips, a lighter wolf hammer spring and installed adjustable sights. I got the sights here. http://www.precisionsights.com/spr.html They also have adjustable fiber optic
sights. The sights are installed without machining the slide. One thing though the front sight is tall but the sight picture is much better. Mark

Ok..........great thread for me.......:D

1) Hogue Rubber grips (best site/price?)
Use OEM CZ rubber grips...same as Hogues but from CZUSA

2) Wolff springs (What lb, and recoil only?)
Recoil spring is 16# for all around shooting and some +P....replace mag springs as needed. Hammer spring for lighter trigger pull.

3) Looking for a good holster for this gun still
Check out my stuff, if you dont like it, Ill help you find a holster you can use.

4) Optics.... what works best with this gun, just a front fiber optic add-on, or scopes/peep holes?
F/Optics from PSA or have one made from Accurate Plating in FL.

5) Any other suggestions?
Shoot it, love it, carry it and tell it bed time stories. If you put it in a Safe with Sigs they will become very very intimidated.

Shoot well.............

On my CZs I bend the mag brake flat so mags will drop free, and put in a Wolf extractor spring and Wolf 17# mainspring. I also buy several MecGar 16rd mags.

the trigger will break in and smooth out with use..but if you want an absolutely beautiful trigger..send it to Matt Mink or Angus Hobdell and have them do the action..

add in the competition hammer and competition sights from Angus ( www.ghostholster.com).

add a set of wood grips from Hakan and this will be a beauty..

extras that are nice..a JackAsh guiderod.

Holster..look at HBE for leather or Comptac or Bladetech for kydex gear.

my setup on my two SP01s are: action work by Matt and Angus, Competition hammer, Competition sights, 15# mainspring, 11# recoil spring, wolffe extractor spring, CZ rubber grips, straighten the magbrake, lots of CZ factory mags.

16 pound wolff spring. (Maybe not necessary if you shoot practice ammo and nothing but...)
Extractor hook spring.
If you have some standard capacity mags, then by all means get some +5% mag springs.
Neutered mags work fine with the stock springs, but the 15th round in a stardard mag may need a little extra help to make it into position before the slide tries to strip it from the mag.
Mag brake from a 85 combat. (Or bend the stock one, I have a 50% sucess rate.)
Remember, don't dry fire it without snap caps.
Also, if you're into keeping spare parts, a witness slide stop. (CZ slide stops seem to break without warning, witness slide stops seem to be made of a better material.

Witness slide stops -- at least the ones I've seen used -- don't lock back the slide. And broken slide stops in Witness competition guns was a pretty common problem when they were used widely in IPSC a number of years back.

Slide stops on CZ break, but not THAT often. We've got thousands of users on the CZ Forum who talk about their CZ problems, and broken slides stops have been mentioned relatively few times (numbered in the 10s, not 100s.)

Don't forget.....22 cal conversion. Nothing like being able to practice all day, without burning a hole in your pocket. ;)

I was just thinking about that...that would be great..

also...pick up a 25 round CZ mag when you get some extra..fun to go the range and shoot that many rounds..

Absolutely! The Kadet Kit, .22 conversion is one of the best conversion kits on the market.
