I just talked to my state rep. She told me that all gun license fees will be doubling under the governors budget plan. :fire:

Well, look at it this way:
Being Massachusetts, you're already listed as the owner of a firearm.
Now, if you take yourself out of the class, by selling off your arms, or, perhaps, simply storing them out of your state's reach, that would decrease the state's very real need for further funding to increase their control over your life.
Therefore, by the General Court's order, each owner shall be, for life, taxed an additional amount, fixed, but increased on a regular basis.
Note that current and former members of the military will be automatically included in the taxed class, since they know something about firearms.
This is imposed on the minority for the benefit of the children, of course.

And I'll bet they go up next year and the year after and so on. Sort of like some of the proposed bullet tax legislation in various states, including mine. Make it expensive enough and that's your gun control.

Just our of curiosity, when is this license fee increase supposed to come into effect? Mine is up for renewel in 2 months!

Forget the fee, just the mention of the phrase "gun license" is enough to make me puke.

It can up to 2 months to have your license renewed. If you don't want a lapse, I'd get to the PD tomorrow.
