I have one, that I've converted to a pistol grip stock, as it originally had a thumbhole stock. Very nice AK, considered the best of the stamped AKM variant. The fit and finish is much nicer than many of the others.

FEG makes nice weapons... The SA 85 M is the best fit an finish clone that was ever offered. Nice deep bluing, pretty wood, etc.

I have 2 , one converted to an AMD 63. These are the best 1 mm stamped guns! The Yugo's 1.5mm ones are stouter, but too heavy. The Fegs are nice and light. The Bulgarian and Russian forged guns were nice , preban. I used to have 10 AK , before 1994. I sold the chinese(4), and the Maadis(2) after I tried them. I kept 2 Fegs and 3 Yugo's : one under folder and one a .308 as the best of the bunch!

Still kicking myself for passing over one...

Brand new, $300...

Kind of like Bulgarian SLR-95s retailing for $250, "Oh, I'll get one on the next order.".

Sometimes you just cannot win.

I have one. Most reliable rifle I have! Over 3000 rounds without any sort of failure. Only paid $239 NIB but that was back in 1994 or so.

I've had two of the Bulgarians and one of the SA-85M Hungarians...

Still have the Hungarian. ;)

Thank you all for your kind advice. I think I'll go ahead and buy it. Will give you a range report as soon as I have tried it out...

I've had a Hungarian SA-85M also and think it's one of the nicest AK variants out there. Today, I replaced the thumbhole stock with a black pistol grip and screwed on a Hungarian wood stock with a matching blond color. It's not quite a comfortable as the thumbhole stock, but now it looks like the real thing!
