K-31 Arrived Today

After shooting English Kanigit's K-31 a couple of months ago, I just had to have one!
Paid AIM Surplus for walnut and hand picked. Got one with VG-EX metal, great bore, and a really dinged-up stock. Name was under the buttplate. Ser # indicates it was made in '44.
I've already got new Graf's brass & dies, so I just need to get busy loading.
I've searched here & everywhere I can think of for the stripper clips...anybody know of a source for them?
I can see one of the MOJO peep sights being added.
I'm going to attempt to refinish the stock...it's pretty rough.

Good luck with your new rifle! I recently succumbed to the K31's charms myself.

Have fun with that rifle, I love mine. I think I'm going to get another one, just so I can put the S&K scope mount and a scout scope on it like this. (http://www.surplusrifle.com/reviews2005/skswissk31mount/index.asp)
It's crazy accurate, but I can't handle the sights. Gotta have a peep or a scope on a rifle this sharp.

Thanks, guys!
Got a dozen of the charger clips on the way from TennGunParts.
That scope mount is intriguing. No question that I'll need to do something for sights/optics. The K-31 sights are a little on the "fine" side for these 52 yr old eyes. Not much of a sight picture to work with.
Thanks again!

Moondoggie, thumbs up on a great selection and a great investment. :) www.dansammo.com also has strippers and ammo. These things can be so accurate that you will probably want to try a scope at some point. I'm looking at the St.Marie's mount which is a offset mount but considered great quality. Check out www.swissrifles.com for lots of info on your new precious.

B-square makes a scout mount for the K-31. And St. maries makes both clamp on and drill and tap mounts. You can find the St. maries mounts here http://www.swissrifles.com/~swiss-sights/

Brownells sells all three types of scope mounts. I got the St. Marie's clamp on mount and have been very pleased with it. I mounted a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 Ballistic plex scope on it and after some tinkering and handload development I am getting groups at around 1". With GP-11 surplus ammo I can keep it at 1.5 inches.
www.surplusrifle.com and ParallaxBills also have good K31 info.

I use a "Darrel's Scout Mount" with a scout scope on my K-31. I get anywhere from sub MOA (rarely) to 1.5MOA (usually) with it. The scout scope, combined with the straight-pull action, allows for some pretty fast shooting.
