Never used one myself, but saw a demo. The guy chucked the thing probably 200 yards quite easily. Pretty impressive, but I wouldnt want to imagine how much practice that thing would take to use accurately. Cant really see using it in thick woods either without whacking the thing into something. If someone really wants to use one, I say good luck. ;)

Played with one as a kid.
I guess if you can get close enough to use a bow you can get close enough for a spearchucker...
Probably more effective than a bow too.
