Sale at Sportsman's Warehouse till Friday, tax-free purchases in AZ, MN, NV, NM, SD, UT, WA. 6% off most store items including ALL FIREARMS at every other location. Doesn't sound like much, but I saved $50.00 off an HK P 2000. Basically brought it down to the cost of an internet buy plus shipping and transfer.

While I was checking out, I saw the list of excluded items from the 6% sale. It's extremely short - only gun-related item I remember seeing on there was "High-Dollar Optics (>$500)." Open season on almost anything else.

I'm going back for ammo tomorrow! :D

I think everyone should boycott them until they decide to get their selling practices right!:scrutiny:

In an attempt to be PC, SW usually won't sell certain items to people in various states that are perfectly legal for them to have. They are either to lazy or just don't care to check to see that it's legal for them to have.

People have even called them or sent an email to tell them it's legal for them to own it, only to hear "it's company policy".:banghead:

I'm only aware of Sportsman's Warehouse retail stores - there's one here just outside of Austin, TX, and I visited one in the Denver area while on a business trip . . . each time, I found the people there professional and courteous. (They also sell handguns and EBRs . . . :D )

1. Perhaps its just prudent and safe practicies. I assume your beef is that they won't sell stuff to California. I can't blame them. While it might be legal for them to do so, they can't go on just yor word and need to hire a lawyer to confirm that. Lawyers aren't cheap.

2. Then, of course, there is the risk that just because something is legal today, doesn't mean a tort lawyer or overzealous gun baning prosecutor or Attorney General won't sue you anyway. Once you enter the state for busienss purposes, the states long arm statutes draw you in for all sorts of crazy liabiliites.

3. Finally, there is the fact that Kalifornia is a political travesty. Good for them. You sleep in the bed that you made, and California has made an especially hostile to business bed. I hope SG are boycotting the state simply out of principle. I wish more businesses did the same thing, though I suspect the real reason is more along the lines of 1 and 2.
