Which one of these should I sell?

I recently went a bit overboard with my gun purchases. I now need to sell at least one of these to pay off my debt. Which one should I part with?

Keeping one is unfortunately not an option. :(

Keep the M14. You gotta love the older blued S&Ws. The one you have looks to be in great shape.

Did you say that Mod 14 was for sale? ;)

The 66 is easily replaced, ditch the 66.

Easy get rid of the 66. Or I'll give you $100.00 and then sell it back to you for the same $100.00 when you are ready for it.
(might be a few rounds down the pipe though. :scrutiny: )

Dump the M66 and when times are better replace it with one without the MIM parts (preferably a P&R specimen). ;)

Gotta agree. Keep the 14.

Oh come on. You already knew which one we'd tell you to keep.
Throw a set of cheap rubber grips on the 66 and say B'bye.
Save the good wood for when you replace it next year.

In the interest of spreading the joy of blued S&W revolvers i think you should sell the mdl14, only because i like having such pretty things in circulation. If i were in your position i would sell the 66 though.
+1 to putting some cheap rubber grips on it. The wood wont add much to the price, and you will regret parting with nice stocks that are becoming increasingly difficult/expensive to accquire.

Looks like the 66 will be coming to an online auction site near you. Thanks very much for the help! I knew that the 66 wasn't as nice, but it's still hard to let it go since it doesn't have the lock. Maybe I'll replace it with a GP100 some day.
Snagging the grips is a great idea, thanks BluesBear and c_yeager for the tip.

My 14-4 is one of my more favorite handguns. Find an older 66 later(I'd like a 2 3/4" one) or for extensive shooting or if it's going to be your only 357mag, a GP100 would be great as would be an L or N frame S&W.

That 14 is a keeper.

Don't part with EITHER one, if you're happy with them! On the other hand, if you just HAVE to sell one of them, the model 14 is a "keeper".
Get yourself out of debt by doing some "creative financing"! Work a few extra hours of over-time at your job, if possible. Have a garage sale. Re-cycle aluminum cans. Do without a few "luxuries" for awhile. Tell your friends and relatives that you'd rather have CASH for your next birthday, Christmas, or whatever other time that you might receive gifts. Borrow from relatives or friends. Take on a part-time job. Take out a short-term loan from your bank.
Several years ago, I found myself in somewhat of a financial bind. It was something that didn't need immediate cash-in-hand, but I needed to come up with $2,000. I used most of the above-mentioned "creative financing" schemes, and within less than a month, I had been able to get nearly $5,000!
Firearms are LONG-term "investments"! The longer you hold onto them, the better the re-sale value!
You just might surprise yourself with how much money you can come up with....LEGALLY, and in a very short amount of time!

Are you an Ebay member?? If not, time to start. You can sell anything on Ebay. Old tools, motercycle parts, car parts odds and ends from the attic or basement. You will get a lot more money from junk than you will get on the street for a model 14. Most present day gun buyers do not appreaciate the 38 special (if I had to have just one handgun, it would be a 6" model 14, so don't count me in this crowd). They just won't bring what they are worth. If you have to sell one, sell the 66. There are lots of 4" police trade-ins out there and it is easily replaced. But again, get on Ebay and sell your baseball card collection or your Grandmas hand cut crystal vase...not your guns!:(

no matter anyones opinion. . it's your gun, your eyes, your hands, and your life maybe.
so it's your decision. if you want JUST the collectors and passionate lovers of revolvers point of view, you have that.
I sure won't dispute it.
if you intend to live or die by this gun..
go shoot em both and take the one works the best.
and nobody's opinion means diddley. find out. do that.
not saying you'll do it different. but you'll decide different.
dang. I didn't mean to get all spooky, just.. sometimes the right thing isn't the ordinary thing. it depends what you NEED worst.. :scrutiny:

You will want to keep any blue pre-lock guns, they are going up in price and may never be made again.

Keep the model 14. It would be slightly harder to replace in the future.

Since no one said ditch the 66 and keep the 14, I will. :D
