Will celebrities be collateral casualties from the war?

Ever wonder why someone like Madonna is famous and some other girl who can sing and dance just as well isn't? Celebrity status is part talent and part marketing. When the public loves you, you are famous. With France , Germany and others boycotting everything from coke to oscars even Mickey Mouse is going to take a hit. Madonnas latest video is aimed squarely at "selling to" the european market but she may be boycotted anyway much to her chagrin. Look to the skies for a shower of falling stars as public opinion weighs in against what some believe is their talent.

It would be nice to see the careers of many of these "celebrities" completely tank; watching them fade into obscurity would be very entertaining.

Having a bit of experience in the "Entertainment" industry I can tell you that another necessity for survival is being ruthless. To get to the "top" isn't so much a mix of what you know or even who you know as it is who you **** (insert Monica-ism here). Or who you're willing to walk over. That's the main reason I'm not a famous musician, well, that and I'm not that good, but I couldn't stand the attitude. Having said all that, most of the "celebrities" that I'd love to see pack up and leave (like they promised BTW) are nothing if not ruthless. They'll be around for a while yet, I fear. And bashing firearms and firearms owners. There, I stayed on topic.:D

They should get a handbook for professional entertainers.
1. Just because you're famous doesn't mean your opinion is of any more value than anyone elses'.
2. Just because you're famous doesn't mean your opinion is the widely held one.
3. Just because you're famous doesn't mean you get a free pass to bash anyone or thing you dislike.
4. Just because you're famous doesn't mean you you shouldn't get out more.
Being a professional musician is hard work - being famous is 90% packaging and promotion. You could package and sell dog:cuss and be profitable with the right promotion.
Being famous is the first step to being a hasbeen.:neener:

Well the Dixies Chicks took a hard hit after comments their lead singer made & The West Wing has taken a ratings hit as well. Could the hit the West Wing be a result of tuning into war coverage or tuning out Martin Sheen? Honestly don't know, but I am glad of the results :)
At some point these celebs will realize that not everyone is as sheepish as they might make us out to be.

Used to have American heroes in Hollywood (Audie Murphy, John Wayne, etc.); look at what's left.:barf:

Audie Murphy, and many others came to my mind also. Something happened somewhere, because at one time we had role models , in Hollywood and many others areas, Patriotic, if not veterns, they served in other capacities.
Society of Sheep today.
Yes, I think as those of yesteryear being stereotyped as the qualities we deem valuable--
Today's Hollyweird are stereotypical sheeple...

Say it loud..
If you oppose the 2nd Amendment, you are an enemy of the Bill of Rights.
If you are an enemy of the Bill of Rights, you are an enemy of the Constitution.
If you are an enemy of the Constitution, you are an enemy of The People.
If you are an enemy of The People, you are an enemy of mine.

All I know is that my GF turned to the "West Wing" tonight and I bolted from the room. I will not tolerate Martin Sheen, or George Clooney, Michael Moore etc, etc.:cuss: :fire: :barf:

Did you see the video of Sheen at the protest a week or so ago with duct tape over his mouth? There's a trend that I wish would catch on.

Who is to Tim Robbins left (no pun intended :D )?
Same question about the blond to the left of BAH-BAH Streisand.
I don't get enough entertainment to recognize all my leftist useful idiots.

To the left of Tim Robbins, in actuality as well as in this picture, is the ever gracious, all seeing, all knowing, Susan Sarandon.
Excuse me but I have to :barf:

You are blessed, my friend, for you do not recognize that Hanoi Jane is to the left of BS. :barf:

I guess she's had one face lift too many for me to recognize her. She looks nothing like Barbarella.
I thought that Susan Sarandon was next to Tim Robbins, but the photo was either taken 15 years ago or was airbrushed beyond certain recognition, or both.

Not many...:scrutiny:
I think it may be Isabella Rosselini (sp?), an Italian actress. Too bad--she's done some great movies w/ Tom Selleck...

Free Speech - YES!
Free Pass - NO!
3. Just because you're famous doesn't mean you get a free pass to bash anyone or thing you dislike.
A free pass meaning.... a large public audience to spew to with no ramifications - legal or financial. In other words... Go ahead and say what you REALLY believe, reveal yourself by all means. But, realize it may have great financial impact upon your career if the fans that built your wealth disagree.
Just wanted to clarify.
