In this month's issue of the NRA magazine 'America's First Freedom' there's a well-written article about the deceit and lies Michael Moore uses in 'Bowling for Columbine.' Unfortunately, it seems that the author, James O.E. Norell got suckered into at least one misleading segment of 'BfC.'

He makes the following statement:Another low point of this so-called “documentary” is a segment from South Park which anti-gunner Brady simply called “a cartoon skit representing the history of guns in America." In fact, the animated segment had nothing to do with South Park whatsoever. It was created by a New York animation house called Flickerlab. South Park is created by South Park Studios in California.

Of course, the fact that the style of animation in BfC bears an almost uncanny resemblance to South Park is a complete coincidence, I'm sure. This, coupled with a short segment where Moore talks with Matt Stone seems to be put together with the intent of misleading the audience into believing that the creators of South Park not only buy into what he's saying, but were willing to create a cartoon for him.

OK, I admit it, I fell for that one. Everyone has been saying that the strip was created by one of the duo behind South Park. They're generally pretty sensible people, but they're also great satirists and have no problem poking a little fun at shooters and hunters when it suits them. I thought that was too bad.

Though I try to separate art from politics in my mind when I can, I admit it's nice to know that neither Matt nor Trey had anything to do with that monstrosity.

Just think what could be done with one episode of South Park devoted to Michael Moore? Kind of like Mecha-Streisand, or the time the Sundance Film Festival moved to South Park.
