Been there. Bring money. I thought the best deals were in the tent area.

Howdy Tim, long time no see.

The December Crossroads show is the biggest gunshow I have ever seen, anywhere.

This is the show with 3-4 buildings, 2-3 tents, PLUS the "Small Arms Review" building which is full of all sorts of Title II / Class 3 goodies.

Many of the best vendors are only seen at the big December show. This is the only one I try to spend all three days at, and maybe weazle my way in during set-up (that's the only way to beat the other vendors to some of the best deals).

If you took a million dollars with you, you could spend it all and still need more.

Maybe I'll see you there.

I heard it was suppose to be a good one. Too bad it's so close to Christmas. The kids are more important to buy for then me this time of the year.

Enjoy!

I plan to go. Missed it last year. Probably won't make any major purchases, but want to check it out. Maybe some of the THR folks can meet up.

What's the date of the show?
Dec 2-4. I'll probably try to go for one of the days, but then again, I don't have any money to buy stuff, so I probably shouldn't tempt myself. Last time I wound up with the Sig P245.

I found out on my last trip there that I will be in southern AZ the weekend of this show. I can't buy anything  , but I still plan on going to look around and bask in the gunny atmosphere.

BTW- I would love to meet up with some fellow THR members if at all possible.

I have grown totally disgusted with the Crossroads shows!

The last three times I went I swore i wouldn't go again, and haven't gone to the last four.

The first major complaint was the so-called "safety" guy a the desk at the entrance. While checking to make sure a pistol was unloaded...he pointed it at me (crossed my body, and levelled it at my belly button) FIVE times in about as many seconds.

The slide wasn't open, and a magazine was still in the gun! Now, I don't know about y'all...but to me, ANY gun is a LOADED gun, I don't like having it pointed at me.

So, when I challenged him on it he said.."Well, if you people wouldn't bring 'em here i wouldn't have to check 'em." HUH?

I mentioned it to a member of the event staff and they said.."Well, he's getting a little older..."

I was done listening to them at that point.

This was my last trip to a Crossraods show. Last, Final, Finis!

Go and hopefully enjoy yourselves...but make sure to duck when they check your guns.

Go and hopefully enjoy yourselves...but make sure to duck when they check your guns. We don't have that problem at the OC and San Diego shows.:neener:

Oh wait, I just remembered why we don't have that problem.:(

...thought I'd give a heads-up for anyone going on Sunday.

Go early, and prepare to walk your butt off. Today, there was a 75-yd line just to buy tickets($12). Plus, we had to park ALL the way on the other side of the Ice House Arena - I think there was some kind of church youth rally in that venue today, which totally ate up all the parking. I was on the move from 11:00 to show close, and I just barely managed to skim most of the show. Huge.

GO TO THE SMALL ARMS REVIEW BUILDING FIRST!!! Most all of the good stuff is there. Get your free copies of SAR and SGN. Many of the national gun/accessory mfg's are in that building, like TAPCO, InterOrdnance, Krebs Custom, etc. The MIG/ETA booth is actually a co-op for K-VAR and several other AK parts houses/builders. I got a screaming deal ($60) on a factory-second 1796 Light CAvalry Saber at the Cold Steel booth. DS Arms was NOT there this year, but the other dealers still had a lot of FAL accessories. AR shooters can find virtually everything at several booths, too many to list; if nothing else, grab some $15 post-sunset AR-15 mags, probably the best deal I saw there.

After the SAR building, go to the building behind the tents - most of the usual gun show jewelry/jerky vendors are in the buildings to the left and right of the tents as you walk in the gate. FYI, any fans of Boston T. Party MUST go to the white-walled building behind the big green building - he's there in person, selling signed copies of his books(ALL the way in the back corner). Look just outside the entrances to the green building for Northridge International if you need mil-surp parts or accessories, they've got tables at both entrances.

Miwall seemed to have the best prices on case-lot ammo by a small margin, Hunter's Supply(?) had decent prices on remanufactured(reloaded) ammo. J&G Sales had mostly mil-surp calibers(8mm, 7.62X54R, linked Portuguese 7.62NATO), but they also brought along Mosin-Nagant rifles and police-surplus handguns like S&W Model 10's for their wholesale flyer prices. Ammo Supply(?) at the front edge of the tents had a good deal on LONG zippered rifle cases, $10/ea - they'll fit a full-length Mosin 91/30, Turk Mauser or Swede M96, I've bought 'em before.

Just about all the gun prices are higher than one expects at gun shows, with much diligent shopping you might find a decent deal but no screaming bargains. Best bets would be used handguns from either floor-walking private parties or high-volume dealers like Bear Arms, with multiple-table displays. Mil-surpers like me will find few really good bargains apart from the Mosin-Nagants at J&G. However, I did come across two pretty nice Swedish M96 Mausers at two different dealers for around $265 each.

What's the deal with the crystal figures for sale at the gun shows now? LOL
