Anyone else other than me heard this? It was on NPR this morning. They had stated that there were ex Russian military generals, supposedly consulting with the Iraqis. Their goal is to try and help the Iraqis figure out our movements and strategy.

I think they mentioned that they were the same generals that were fighting in Afghanistan way back. If that's so, God/Allah help the Iraqis.

In nearly every military conflict America has been engaged in since World War II, Russians have fought against us in one way or another. In Korea, Russian aviators flew MIGs against us. In Vietnam, they manned SAM batteries as "advisors." But then again, I'm sure we had CIA-type guys having a little fun with the Russkies in Afghanistan. Live-fire demonstrations with Stinger missiles against Soviet helicopters for the tribesmen, that sort of thing.

Now are y'all talking about Russians or ex-Soviet generals? There is a difference.

And sure enough, in about every conflict we have had issues with our enemies being helped by the Soviets or former Soviets. Let's not forget that now in Iraq that we are fighting ourselves in that we provided a lot of training to the Iraqis when they were fighting the Soviets and we have Americans siding with Iraqis as "human shields." In short, there are a lot of idiots out there trying to help our enemy.
