I have tried to open a few threads over the last few days that make my browser close. I dont begin to understand it, and thought it was due to a recent IE6 upgrade I downloaded until it was doing it on those same threads on Opera7.

Any ideas? I click, then *poof*. Its like there is an imbeded exit command in the html, which I am not even sure is possible in html code. I am reasonably confident its not possible, in fact.

Example of a thread that does it: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=166521 . I have even tried the 'right-click->new window' trick, to no avail.

Well, your example thread opens just fine for me. No idea what's causing this. Are you Web-surfing from work, where filters might detect a particular word or phrase in a thread and close the browser on principle?

No, but I may have just solved my problem. System Mechanic 4 has a pop-up killer that I just disabled, and it resolved the problem on this site.

Now to fiddle with the settings to see if I can make it work right.
