Hello, I would like to get some info on this rifle (?). Apparently it was made in 1901 by Gustav Fukert. Doess anyone have any idea about what it's worth? Thanks, Ive

One of my sources has this:

"????ert, Gustav [That is the spelling given.]

Weipert, Bohemia, 1863 to 1939. Exhibited military and sporting rifles and revolvers at the International Exhibition, Philadelphia, 1876."

The old Bohemia makes up most of the modern Czech Republic; Weipert (Czech name Vejprty) is in the north, on the German border.

The dirty word search replaced part of the name with question marks. I am sure you can guess what was deleted. You spelled the name without the "c" but my source spelled it with a "c" which made it a naughty word.

I don't know anything about ol' Gustav but that is a technically interesting gun.

It looks like a doppelbusche drilling = two rifle barrels, one shot.
Right? If so, not common.
Do the semiconcealed hammers cock upon opening? Or do you have to thumb them back like rabbit ears?
They are a fairly late feature, the side swing "double grip" opening lever an early one, at least in England and Germany. Maybe Bohemia lagged behind in some areas.
I haven't seen just that sort of reinforcing side lug, either.
Has claw mount scope bases.
Are the triggers settable for accurate rifle shooting?
Can you identify the rifle caliber and shot chamber length?

Gun show prices on European combination guns run in the $1000 - $3000 range but due to obscure makers and obsolete calibers, they are not jumping off the tables.

That gun looks like it was built by the maker of the Tiger tank. And carried by Arnold Schwartzenegger.
