It's Sunday morning in Western NY and I and my GF are on our way to breakfast. On our way there, we passed two trucks full of hunters. One was pulled onto the shoulder and the other was stopped in the middle of the lane right next to the first. In the beds of the trucks were hunters with loaded firearms, 4 in one and 5 in the other.
How do I know they were loaded? I watched one load a round, chamber, then finish loading while I was waiting for on-coming traffic to go by so I could pass.
No sooner had I passed they began to pull away, hunters still in the back with loaded firearms and sitting on the walls of the beds. It looked like a posse getting ready to lynch someone.
Think it's over? Nope. On the way back, I passed 3 quad-runners each having 2 riders and guns across the passenger's lap. There was also a truck with them with a loaded cab and 3 more in the bed.
Whatever happened to following the law? PPL see this and would probably think "That's typical. Yahoo rednecks. Hunting should be banned because all hunters are that irresponsible."
Get with it ppl. Follow the law or sell your guns to responsible people. Stop giving the rest of us a bad reputation because you're too lazy to lock your guns where they belong when transporting. BTW, Quads count as motor vehicles in this state. They must be locked up by law.
