my shooting improves tremendously using most any shotgun at any game when i mount this way. am i missing something? i've read(old TFL threads) and been told the butt(not its toe) should be in the cup, and the heel level with the shoulder line. i lose my consistancy this way and my long neck bends too much thus my head lifts. is there a reason to change somthing?

Change the shotgun, this is what we mean by "Fitting". At a guess, you need more drop, more length and more ammo....

Dave:

more drop would put my chin to my sternum and i'd have to look through the top of my head:p really, i have adjustable combs, and plenty of lop; so what's really wrong with toe in cup if my anatomy "dictates" this? Ron

It means that all the kick is concentrated into a smaller area, hence more pain.

More drop, so you can shoot head up. Adjust that adjustable comb as high as possible and see how things go. Remember it can take up to 1000 rounds to adjust to a change.

Sounds like you could start with an off-the-rack monte carlo stock.

yes this has been effective especially with a morgan pad. but if i like the feel of the consistant anchor point, what would be wrong?
