The new AR180B went to the range this past weekend. 200 rounds fired. Not a single failure to feed, eject, or cycle. Groups at 50 yards for the initial sighting in were a little off to the left and up. A few adjusments, and it made jagged holes at that range
100 yards, the groups opened up to about 2 inches. This was with firing standing, not sitting at the bench.
I am a little concerned about the fact that during slow fire the empties kick back against the rifle, just abaft of the ejection port. That leaves little brass marks on the finish. I spoke to Neil at the factory, and he says that this is the result of no shell deflector, and it is not a problem.

Overall, I would say that I am very pleased. Accurate, reliable, and lots of fun. The rifle is much lighter than my HBAR, and is more accurate than my new AR15A2.

Mannlicher,

Two questions?

One? How did you get one? My dealer hasn't seen one since they were announced by Armalite.

Two? How much?

I bought a Mini-14 ranch in SS with plastic furniture a few years ago for $489. A few months ago, I bought a Bushy 16" shorty for $800. The AR180 would have to be on the low end of the .223 cost for me to consider it.
