I just bought an AR-7 the other day (less that $100) and I think it is a neat little gun, and I've been told that there are quite a few part kits and add-ons for it, and I was wondering about where to get them and what the quality is of the gear.

The guy I bought the rifle from had a NIB Israeli AR-7 soaked in cosmo, and he wouldn't sell it, but it was an awesome rifle. It had a great Uzi collapsable stock, and I was wondering how I would go about getting one of those, if they are available. I know the Israeli AR-7's ar VERY rare and only a few came into the country (which is why he wouldn't sell it), but I think it would be neat to built one up from what I have and slap the Israeli parts onto it.

I had one that currently resides with my dad. I found it most useful in it's original configuration, so that I could actually take it backpacking, etc. and still keep it packable. I did try putting a tube stock and pistol grip on it, as well as a scope. All of the parts were of good quality and came from the factory. They sell a lot of different parts to let you make what you want out of it.

The AR-7 excells in it's intended format, though. If you want to trick it out, there is almost certainly another platform that will do the job more effectively.
