THE PLAN sez we should be at least 100 miles away from Baghdad on April 5th? Are we moving too fast?

Is this a cunning plan by militree mastermind Saddam to lure us in and destroy us from the back and flanks? My second cousin's father was a cook during Korea and he thinks we are moving too fast. My brother and I saw "Blackhawk Down" in a strip mall in the 'burbs so we know what we are talking about when we say we are moving too fast.

I once tripped and fell and then had a vision of THE PLAN. We are far too exposed. We are done for. It's Reagan's fault.

I liked the way Tamara put it, “I watch the reports and feel like the announcer at a Mike Tyson v. Britney Spears bare-knuckle fight: "She's got her dukes up. He draws back and lets fly with a right cro... OH! Ow! That's gotta hurt...and Britney is giving Tyson's knuckles a terrible bruising with her jawbone! He must really be feeling the pain!”

I was relieved to see the Marines get moving again yesterday and bypass Kut. Rumour around here has it that the Colonel commanding the 7th Marines lined up his men, ordered "Left, face!" (toward Baghdad) and continued: "Do you know what's less than 100 miles away in that direction?"

"The U. S. Army, that's what! Get moving"! :D

I would say that if the supply lines and flanks are secured, full steam ahead. There are some risks but they are worth taking. I also think Guderian would be on Turkish border by now :D

The sands of time for Saddam are running low.

Blackhawk, how can you say that I do not know. I have two major sources, Admiral Unnamed Source and General Knowledge, who tell me everything I want to hear.:D

Bypassing major units always runs a little risk, but in this case not much. Nobody else is coming to save these clowns. The Guard units that did get bypassed would be decimated if they counter-attacked, A-10 pilots live for moments with a bunch of
T-72s in the open and on the move. Yes if a major counter-thrust was mounted out of Raghdad our nose would get a little bloody stopping it, but there is no question it would stop.

What about our flanks? Let the enemy worry about their flanks.

From the 101st AB's history, the view on a counter-assault. "They've got us surrounded, the poor bastards"

Haul *ss and bypass, George Patton would be proud.
