For my still life assignment i decided to choose clay shooting as my theme, here are two of the prints ive been working on thus far:

wish the scan quality were better, then you could really see the prints better. took me forever to try and get the contrast back under control with that crappy photo editor on my computer...

my classmates were( to my suprise) very accepting of the gun related theme. i figured being an art class there would be a bunch of bleeding liberals ( :what: ) that would freak. quite a few people who didnt know anything about trap wanted me to tell them about it and were genuinely interested. even found out one other student had been trap shooting before. made me smile. also found out that the instructor used to collect firearms! even more impressive. maybe maryland isnt that bad afterall :)

enjoy the images!

*thanks to PGC Trap&Skeet for giving me a bunch of clays for free. real nice of them.

Daniel, that is outstanding!
I'd like to see similar shots on a concrete background with a yard-line designation painted on it (16, 17, etc...).

Federal or Estate boxes might look a little less stark and draw less attention than the black Winchester boxes as well.

Then again, the AA on the target and box/shells work well together.

Hope you don't mind the critique'

Nice pics. Next, try mounting a camera on your shotgun to show what it looks like smoking a clay.

rupe, critiques are always appreciated. Win AA is the only ammo ive ever found locally other than Rem gun club. im actually headed out to the trap field this am with shotgun and camera in hand. when i shot this assignment i had also forgotten to bring my choke tubes with me. i think for my final portfolio a re-shoot is in order.

dave: lol!

had a great time out at PGC today. first round i shot a 20 in the bitter cold. then i got cocky and shot a 16  after that we decided to spend the rest of our money and we went out for a round of sporting clays. had an awesome time. between the 3 of us that went, we fired 300 rounds and spent alll our money :)

Neat pics! There is somehting odd about the terrycloth background though. Maybe a fake-leather chamie or slightly oil-soiled cloth or something would be more, ah, sporty?
Heading out tomorrow AM to get in 100 before the big meal!
