is the one gun per 30day start from the day you pick up the gun or from the DROS date?

i'm thinking a Ruger P95 in addition to my HK USP 45. any comments regarding this gun on the variance type, the DAO, decocker only or the safety?

30 days from the sale.......or DROS submittal. So, you can buy another gun 20 days after you pick one up and then get to wait another 10 days. Either way, you can buy one every 30 days and pick one up every 30 days.

I have a KP95 with 11K rounds through it. Never had a failure of any kind and it shoots anything round. I have and like the decocker. The DA pull is nothing to write home about (unless you want to write nasty letters home) so I'd shy away from the DAO model. The slide to frame fit is pretty loose but the barrel lock up in the slide is tight so its reasonably accurate (not 1911 accurate.)In its price range, I think its a good value.

I also have a KP95, decocker model. Have had it several years without a malf (other that when I stuck my thumb behind the slide - shooter induced). It eats any ammo I have fed it (Federal, S&B, PMC, Winchester, UMC and some home loads). Perfectly reliable and accurate. Hicaps are still available for it at bargain prices.

Double action trigger is not all that bad for defensive shooting.
I have used it for IDPA, with considerable practice, and have become fairly proficient at draw, point and shoot, DA mode, out to 20 or so feet.

The price ranges I have seen are bargains, compared to other weapons of this quality. The P95 is a definate "buy" in my book.

Ditto what Arub said about the P95.
I think all Ruger handguns are some of the best values out there.
I liked my P95 so well, I went and bought it's big, younger brother, the P97 last week. :D

I have to agree with the rest of the guys.

the P-95DC will eat anything you can stuff in the magazine. The double action trigger can be a little different from gun to gun. So if you get a chance to handle different P-95s you can choose the one you like.

If you do get one you will have a great pistol.

You can't lose with the P95, especially considering the price! Even if $ isn't a consideration, it's a reliable, accurate, durable and US-made handgun. Go for it.

I agree with all the other comments, I have had one about a year with no complaints , a very good value.

thanks for the info, i checked a local store, they're selling the P95 for $300 while the KP95 is $339 or so.
how's the P97, it's a 45, what about the recoil? with my HK 45, i don't think the recoil is that bad, kind of like shooting a 9mm actually with a little more power.
probably i'll just get the 9mm series, i don't really want to heavily use the HK ($829 weapon  )

Like all the others have said, I love it! I have a stainless P95DC with a houge slip on grip. I have never had any problems with it what so ever, and today I went to a local gun shop and picked up two 15 round mags for 19.99 each.

anybody has pics of their ruger p series? everyone seems to have the DC model. I was looking maybe for the one with safety (although the DC & DAO model seem to look nicer)

Over the years I have collected 41 handguns. My favorite semiauto is the Glock 17. The Ruger 95 is a very nice pistol. Priced right, shoots great and eats any ammo I feed it. I am sure it is durable as all get out.

It's all been said! Tough piece ..... forgiving of ammo variations and, has me well content now with DA/SA. Sorry - pic is ''just another'' DC!!

P97 is on the list quite soon now. :p
