I have a Rem 700 30-06 w/ Redfield Wideview 3X7. This gun does ride on my 4-wheeler to the stand but is always in a hard sided case. It has been dead on for several years and this year it went way out of adjustment on me. Was 6" down and 4" right at 50 yrds. When I tried to turn the adjustment screw the outer ring with the adjustment indication lines on it also started turning. The outer adjustment ring has (2) notches on it that appear to be for a special tool to tighten up the outer ring. How do you tighten this up and can I do it myself and then go have it boresighted and sight it in? I was thinking maybe I needed to back out on the adjustment screw, tighten up the outer adjustment ring and then bore sight with the screw.
