I will be buying a S&W 442 very soon.It is offered in either blue or satin finish. I will be carrying it daily in California weather conditions in a pocket holster or IWB holster. Which of these two is a more durable finish? Thanks in advance for your input.

Get the stainless version if you plan to carry it...

Hi there,
I live in hot, humid coastal SC and would have to agree.
I like the 642-2 for this climate and while I am partial to blued handguns, it just seems like a more logical choice.

Fully loaded and carried in a Galco inside the front pocket horsehide holster, I sometimes forget that I am carrying it.

I have both the 442 and 642. Whatever you decide - make sure you get one.
