Hi, friends! :)

For the last 20 years I've been casting a certain .38 cal bullet:

Lyman #358429 170 grain. It's the Keith bullet and it's super-accurate. But... I dunno, maybe I'm getting old or don't have the time I used to... but I about give up on casting them. They just seem to take forever. :p

So... I'm wondering, what can I buy that's similar? I love this bullet, but I seem to shoot more of them than I can cast anymore... sigh.

Help! :)

Would consider 358156 GC seem to generally shoot and good supply of molds.

Aye, that's a good looking bullet. But the thing is I don't want to cast .38's anymore... sigh.

I'd like to just buy the bullets pre-made. Wondering if any of the commercial casters throws #358429 so I can just buy in bulk.

Sure enough! "Leadheads Bullets" out of St. John, Kansas casts a great 358-168 Keith. It's almost identical to the Lyman 358429. Like most commercially cast bullets I've used though, they are quite hard and I get leading with them unless I keep the pressure high enough to cause them to slug up ("obturate" I think it's called) and seal the bore. Other than that, they work great for me. Like you, I just plain got tired of devoting time to casting bullets for .357's and .38 Specials.
