Not to threadjack, but one of the amusing touches in the movie is that the guy with the Bren dons ear protection before walking into the room and opening up.

Yes. She was hidden on the couch and sneaks over and picks it up and starts blasting.

I love that movie.

I believe it was a Mk2. It was .303. Almost 100% it was not a Mk1 and definately not a .308 Mk4/L4

IIRC, it was .303. I remember seeing rimmed cartridges, so I'll go with pre-war.
