My buddy cleans all his Glocks with Simple Green right before he puts them in his dishwasher. AFAIK, his Glocks (21,17,23) have never failed him in any way.:)

Yep. I soak my P99 frame in simple green and really hot water every now and then. Soak it, scrub it, blow dry it, lube it. Easy.

Did it once. I cleaned a Glock 21 in the stuff. Worked good, just didn't like the smell (even after a VERY thorough rinsing!). It didn't smell like a firearm  :scrutiny: :D

P99 9mm is what I have. I'll give the SG a try.
At 1300 rnds, I haven't "dunked" the frame yet.

Works fine, test your example in an area that is hard to see before going whole hog with the SG.

I've soaked my G21 frame in full strength simple green overnight a couple times with no ill effects. Just super clean.

I soaked my anodized aluminum flash hider for my 10/22 in full strength SG when it was really leaded up for a few days and it stripped the anodizing off of it, clean.

Careful with those anodized parts!

Yes! SG is death on anodized aluminum, for that reason alone i won't use it to clean any of my firearms.

I don't really understand people putting their glocks in dishwashers and such, you don't need to eat off of the things. They're glocks! they don't need to be spotless! Don't make it harder than it needs to be.

Putting a grip frame in a dishwasher to clean it isn't exactly hard. :) In fact, I can't think of an easier way to clean all the gunk out. I dunno about you, but I really enjoy a nice clean gun. I don't like built up junk in my trigger or any of the various other small moving parts.

Not to HiJack this tread or anything but has anyone tried the Dunk-It solution sold by Cylinder and Slide?
