Got the new M21-4

Just picked up one of the new Smith and Wesson model 21s in 44 special. It is part of the new run without the garish "Thunder Ranch" doo dad on the side plate and if it weren't for the lock in the sideplate it would be easy to mistake it for one of the older guns. The bluing is a nice deep shiny blue, not the matte black that has become known as blue in the last few years. I'm well pleased so far, though I havn't had a chance to take it to the range yet. I suppose that I will now have to take up reloading since good 44 spl is a bit hard to come by in these parts. It is very nice to see blued steel and wood grips making a reappearnce. Hopefully Smith will sell enough of these and the new 22s to bring back more models in at least limited runs (4 inch 29 or 3 inch 27 PLEASE).

I bet it's a very fine sidearm! Congratulations. I love blued steel and wood S&Ws; I own but one stainless steel revolver and not a single polymer framed gun. But I own a bunch of blued revolvers.
I wanted a TRR 21 real bad when I first heard they were to intruduced, but stepped back when I saw the gold logo and glass-topped presentation case. I just wanted a basic DA big-bore revolver.
By the time I heard of the 2nd issue TRR 21 w/o the billboard I had already started hearing of the TRR 22 in .45ACP. I went that route instead. Got it this past Monday. But I'd love to have a sidearm like yours as well!
Was it priced significantly lower than the original?
Congrats (again)!

So now all the folks who said "It'd buy one if it didn't have that gold logo" are now obligated to purchase and write up a range report, right? (Oh, and let me shoot theirs too).
Gunbroker.com has goldless S&W 21s for as low as $599.
I would be sorely tempted, but I can't shoot DA revo for beans. But I really do like the look of the (goldless) 21 more than the 22; I like the round-butt, but I do like the .45ACP as well.
