Ruger technical question

I have in my possession a Ruger Security Six (blued, 4" bbl, adj sights, .357). I am not the original owner. The original owner experienced a blown out section of the barrel extension (forcing cone). It was returned to Ruger, got a new barrel and complete going over. It is as new mechanically with a wonderful trigger.
Question is, the barrel has the familiar Ruger warning info. Would the original barrel for the Security Six have had the warning or would it have been a 'pre warning' gun? Thanks for the info.

Depends on the serial number... when it was made. But I am sure it still had a warning unless it was really old. I had one 15 years ago, and it had a warning on it.

The Ruger warning is one of the reasons I don't own any Rugers. I don't mind seeing safety messages on boxes and users' manuals, but not on any gun I own.

 Are you afraid it will take all the fun out of your safe shooting if the warning is on the gun so you don't have to remember it?:scrutiny:

I wouldn’t care if my 141 had the alphabet etched into the side of the barrel I wouldn’t trade this gun for anything. I don’t really care how it looks (although I think it looks great) I only care how it shoots and holds up over time.

Mine has all the warning text, but it doesn't seem to affect the aim any...

The lawyer inspired "warning" seems to have appear in 1977. I have a 1976 Old Army (Southport, CN) that doesn't have it. Everything post '76, including replacement barrels, does.

That's the way I remember it too--
The "200th year" guns came out--
Then the lawyer warning roll-mark--
(And people complain about the 1991A1 roll-mark:rolleyes: )

On the flipside, if that dumb warning keeps 'em from being sued into oblivion, maybe it's worth tolerating?
