If it's pointed at your head, you may not hear it at all. The speed of sound is slower than the muzzle velocity of some rounds, and there is a slight delay inherent in your brain. So you might hear a .38 Special or .45ACP, but not a .40 S&W or .357 Magnum. Just a tasteless technical clarification... pax November 28, 2005, 06:23 PM Scary.
