Thompson Center Classic .22?

Anybody have one or shot one? Opinions seem to be very hot & cold over at rimfirecentral.com. I guess the threaded match-grade barrel is pretty nice on a rimfire in this price range, and it does have a solid 'real-gun' feel.
Also looking at Marlin 60/795 for less money FWIW.

Agreed.
Friend of mine has one that is an absolute jewel, accurate, reliable, prettiest piece of wood I have seen on a factory stock in a long time.
Problem is, it is his second; TC replaced the first one as a total dud.
Does it have to be an automatic? CZs are very nice rifles.

I have heard and seen great things about them. I have a Marlin 60 I have had since I was a youngster. Hell of a gun for the money.

Yeah, I'm planning to get a CZ 452 Trainer in addition. But for my plinker, fun gun I want something non-bolt action, so either lever action or semiauto.
I'm hesitant to jump into the T/C just because it seems like 50% of the guys with them are on their 2nd or 3rd one or have given up altogether. :banghead:
The Rem 597's seem pretty good with the new magazines, but I didn't care for the way the one felt with the plastic stock. Maybe with a laminate stock it'd be fine.
I owned a 10/22 in the past and wasn't really planning on getting another, although the new model without the barrel band, with 20" barrel and fiber optic sights is a possibility. :)
Marlin 60SS laminate is pretty nice. Feels kinda cheap, but it's also inexpensive and everybody says it's a great shooter, so that's forgiveable.
In a levergun, I like the Browning BL-22, and plan to look at the Win 9422.

If you want a 9422, move fast, Winchester is discontinuing it and the last production run has been fancied up and priced up.
The BL22 is a nice LITTLE gun, the 39A is a nice BIG gun, as .22s go.

Is the 9422 on par with the BL-22 and Marlin as far as quality of build, and accuracy? How are the sights on the Winchester?
I've only handled the Browning, and it's nice, but maybe a bit short, and I'm not crazy about the glossy wood.
